happy halloween!

Happy halloween! :)

I wish I had an awesome halloween font that I could write this post in.  But alas, it's not happening.  Maybe the ghosts stole it.

Speaking of which, I hate ghosts.

Like I am soooo afraid of them.

More afraid than I am of heights, snakes, and spiders.

Spiders are also part of halloween.  -shivers-

Yep, halloween gives me the shivers, or chills.  Hmm, I never though which one it was...there's something I need to look into...

Anyways, I know a lot of Christians think Halloween is a terrible holiday and it's the devil's holiday, etc.  My mother is one of those people.  I like Halloween.  But only the fun parts. :)  Like the costumes, walking around your neighborhood getting free candy with your friends.  But I hate the creepy parts.  I don't like haunted houses, clowns (don't ask!), spiders, ghosts, witches (though I did dress up as one before...), and all the other creepy stuff you can think of.

What I love about Halloween is you walk around for hours and burn a ton of calories.  So then when you eat candy later, it's like, free calories!! :)

For me, I love the exercise, free candy, and an excuse to dress up!!  And to listen to odd music. :)  (I stole it from Bethany)

Not Alone

I hope ya'll have a fun Halloween!! :)

according to Greta

One word, one girl, one story.

Greta is an extremely independent girl.  She does what
she wants when she wants, goes where she wants, goes with who she wants, and the list goes on.  This life is easy for her.  She's rebellious.  And suicidal.

That part really put everything into perspective for me.  I got it.  I knew her motives, her intentions.  I knew exactly what she meant.  Greta thought that if she was gone, people's lives would be better.

Greta is a great movie (hehe, get it?) but it has its drawbacks.  Before she dies, she wants to lose her virginity.  Her boyfriend won't sleep with her because he knows she's doing it just so she can cross it off her list of things she wants to do before she dies.  They also makeout, but I honestly don't care.  The girl cusses to the point of it seems like she does it just so people will accept her.  I don't really care about cussing.  Maybe that's my new problem...

The movie is so impacting.  It puts the nitty gritty parts of life out there.  The parts movies don't seem to want to adress anymore.  It's not dramatic or overdone.  It's not sugar coated and girlied out. It might be considered a chick flick, but guys can be just as impacted.  If you've been suicidal or know someone who has, it's really hard to watch.  I'm glad my makeup was waterproof when I watched this.  If you really haven't experienced suicide much or at all, this is also really impacting.  It doesn't make suicide over dramatic or blown up.  It doesn't sugar coat it either and turn it into a fairy tale ending.  In the end, sure she does get some of her problems worked out, but there are ends still loose that just make you wonder.

Greta inspired me in many ways.  First off, I'm back to journaling.  Second, I'm living my life because there's so much more that I haven't experienced that I will get to.  I still have some road left to travel.

I literally just finished watching it.  Then I realized it's 12 at night and my mom is still downstairs playing Things with the singles group.  Let's just say, they all know how to laugh....

Anyways, back to Greta.  If you're okay with cussing (not super heavy, the s-word and the f-word once.  I don't care but some do...) and can take suicide (still a hard subject for me, but I made it with a box of tissues) then go watch this movie.  Now.  It's amazing and the message is so real.

Let's just say, it's one of my favorite movies now.

i will stand by you

It’s like a storm
That cuts a path
It breaks your will
It feels like that
You think you're lost
But you're not lost
On your own
You're not alone

I will stand by you
I will help you through
When you’ve done all you can do
And you can’t cope
I will dry your eyes
I will fight your fight
I will hold you tight
And I won't let go

It hurts my heart
To see you cry
I know it’s dark
This part of life
Oh, it finds us all
But we’re too small
To stop the rain
Oh, but when it rains

I will stand by you
I will help you through
When you’ve done all you can do
And you can’t cope
I will dry your eyes
I will fight your fight
I will hold you tight
And I won't let you fall

Don’t be afraid to fall
I’m right here to catch you
I won't let you down
It won't get you down
You're gonna make it
Yeah, I know you can make it

Cause I will stand by you
I will help you through
When you’ve done all you can do
And you can’t cope
And I will dry your eyes
I will fight your fight
I will hold you tight
And I won't let go

Oh I’m gonna hold you
And I won't let go
Won't let you go
No, I won't

This song breaks my heart.
This song fixes every broken heart I've had.

Like my dad
My countless other problems that no one knows
My friendships that are hanging by threads
The one person who I trusted forever who won't talk to me
An amazing friend who lied to me

This song makes me get out of bed in the morning.
Telling me it's going to be okay
Someone's there for me.

God's there for me.
My best friend is there for me.

I'm going to make it.
Maybe not without bruises, scratches, scars.
But I'll be free.

artistically me

I have a confession to make.

I think I'm obsessed with blogging.

I'm serious.

But I guess it's not that bad of an obsession, right?

Last night, I sat for almost an hour coming up and finding blog ideas.  That's how crazy I am for blogging.  Pretty fun though.  It was really hard trying to narrow them all down to one idea.  Doesn't seem hard?  Well, it is.

Anyways...I decide on one.  One that's really fun and it gives me an excuse to post pictures!!!!! :)

15 Things you didn't know about me
I think I'm liking lists like this... :)  These are really random and slightly weird.  If it scares you, well that's just me.  :)  Enjoy!

1.  I'm a total tomboy
I told this to someone the other day and she was like 'no way?!  I would've never guessed.'  So that's something I don't hear everyday.

2.  I like wearing dresses
I know, after hearing 1, it's a little unexpected.  But I really do.  Just not during the winter when I freeze my legs off.

And yes, expect me to be wearing them with converse. :)

3.  I hate writing with pencils
Don't call me weird.  For some reason whatsoever, I absolutely despise writing my homework and taking notes with a pencil.  I am forced to do math with one, but I tend to avoid them at all costs.

4.  I have been on fire
Well, more or less.  My friends and I were playing minute to win it.  You had to roll yourself up in toilet paper and whoever had the most on them won.  Soooo, long story short, I was standing next to a candle and the toilet paper starting to unravel and then after that, we quit using toilet paper.  D:

5.  I really don't like it when people gossip
I know that most people (hopefully all!) hate this too, but I hate it more than I hate wearing flowers and writing with pencils.  So it's a pretty big hate.

6.  I dance around my room
And no one knows.

7.  I'm afraid of falling
I don't try because I dont want to fall down and get hurt.  I missed an audition because I didn't want to fall.

8.  I write songs
Hehe, I can't say I'm good, but I try! :)

9.  I've moved away too many times
I've moved so many times as a kid, I was afraid to have friends that actually lasted.  Some of my friends that I knew in Illinois, I still talk to now.  But most of them are from here.  Just letting ya'll know, I'm not leaving!! :)

10.  I would love
To be a model.  To look like one.  To actually like having my picture taken.  But aslas, I highly doubt this will happen . -sniff-

11.  I've never eaten a York patty
Yep, never had one.  Everyone keeps telling me to, but I've just never gotten around to eating one.  I've eaten a Klondike bar, do those count?  Wait, no!!  I haven't eaten one of those either!!!!! :(

12.  I thought green eggs and ham were real...
I did.  When I first read the book and up until I was seven or so.  I was really, really, sad when I learned they weren't real.  But someday, I will make them real.  Just wait...

13.  I'm always cold in the winter.
Pretty obvious, but I am never, ever warm in the winter.  It's kind of sad, and cold.  That's why I wear fuzzy socks. =D

14. I hate birthdays
Don't call me a hater.  I have good reasons.  I know it's 'your day' and all, but isn't that also what they call your wedding??  Also, when it's my birthday, I get attention from people that I don't normally get and that makes me uneasy.  Like, I hate going to to my own birthday parties....which doesn't work so well when you get a surprise party.....hmmmm.....

15.  I'm Artistically Me
You heard it.  I'm me.  In an artistic way.  Thus the name of my blog. :)

my 10 favorite things about fall

For some reason, I've always disliked Fall and Spring.  I don't know why, but I think it has something to do with the fact that it isn't Summer or Winter.  I'm from Wisconsin, I like extreme weather.  :)  But anyways...

I was really tired of doing homework and I was reading other bloggers who were writing posts about their fave things in Fall.  Well, I basically hate it, so I sort of (in a fun way!) drag Winter back into Fall.  Helps living in Colorado where it snows in October. =D

I am also a picture addict.  This results in a blog post stuffed to the brim with pictures. :)  This obsession is released through my photography blog, which I haven't posted anything on in a while....moving on!

So here we go!! (these are in no particular order!)

1.  Hot Cocoa (well maybe this one is in order! :D)
Normally, I would just make basic cocoa and call it good, but this year I'm going all out.  My fave 'add-ons' (if you will) are peppermint (yummmmmy!!!!), mint (hehe seeing a pattern?), chili powder (I think this is what Bethany said, either which way, it's good!), whipped cream (of course!!), cinnamon, nutmeg (well of course I like THIS!), and vanilla.  And sometimes, I put them all together, which I'm pretty sure it equals XTRA YUMMMMM!!!!

2.  Pumpkins
Jack-o-lanterns, pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice cake, pumpkin lattes, must I go on??  Only since last year did I decide I liked pumpkin.  So this year I WILL find a way to ingest pumpkin spice cake (minus the gluten)!!!

3.  Colors
I love fall colors.  Red, orange, yellow, but I'm sad that there's next to no green.  It's my favorite color, you know. :)  All fall colors look good outside, but they DO NOT look good on me.  Oh the sadness... :(

4.  My birthday
Hehe, yes.  My birthday is in November.  The best part of fall, actually.  AND I get to share it with a lot of other people. :)  Like my amazing cousin Kristen and Emma, who just rocks in general. :)

5.  Sweaters
I LOVE sweaters.  And jackets.  And I really REALLY want a leather jacket, but alas, I am broke. -sniff-

6.  Fuzzy socks
Other than Hot Cocoa, this might be my fave thing of fall.  I love wearing them all the time!!!  Even non fuzzy socks in the fall and winter are freaking AMAZING!!!! :)

7.  Snuggling up and watch NOT scary movies
You guessed it.  I HATE scary movies.  No one, I repeat, no one, can convince me to watch them.  I am NOT making that mistake again.

8.  Books
With it being to cold to go outside and actually do anything, it's the perfect time to grab hot coca, put on some fuzzy socks, and snuggle up with a good book.  I never understand why people say 'snuggle up with a good book'.  I mean, who wants to snuggle with a book???  Someone say paper cuts!!

9.  Hugs
I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that people will give you more hugs during the Fall and Winter.  Maybe because you're cold and you need to warm yourself up so when you hug someone, you warm up yourself and perhaps someone else.  Pretty awesome, huh?

10.  Chili
My mom makes the best chili EVER!!!  Hands down!!!!  I recently suggested we make a HEE-OOJ batch of it and freeze most of it so we can eat it ALLLLLLLL winter long. =D  If you can't tell, I love this!! :)

So there you have it.  My top ten fave (or like my only favorite) things about Fall.  I hope I didn't rupture your brain with all the pictures. XD  I did link them all at the bottom of the post, but it's an extensive list. :)  (if you lost count, the grand total of pictures is 31!!!)

One totally random thing I just thought of!!  I will -try- (remember-I am trying, not always doing) to post everyday if not ever other.  And stuff like this is just plain fun!! :)  Okay, end of randomness!!

If anyone does read this, I want to see YOUR top ten favorite things about Fall.  I love seeing things like this and it's pretty inspiring, I almost want to like it now.

Have a FANTASTIC Fall!!!! :)
